The contradictory human being
人間は矛盾に満ちている。時に賢明であり、時に愚かである。慈悲深いかと思えは、時に残酷である。健康そうに見えて病気にかかりやすい。こういう矛盾から人は信仰に向かってゆく。
The human being is full of contradictions. He is sometimes wise, and at other times foolish. He can be merciful and he can be cruel. And although appearing physically healthy, he is susceptible to illness. It is these contradictions which make man turn to religion .
